Yelle

I got to see Yelle on Saturday night and I haven’t had that much fun at a show, well, since Robyn. I just danced and sang and laughed the entire time. I have to thank the girl that made all my dreams come true, Bethany. We had such a great time together.

Yelle is amazing. I love her style, sound and everything about her. I also love her because I believe that if Tay Tay were a girl, he’d look just like her: super skinny, super sexy, super cool, and super fun.

Of Montreal

Last Wednesday I got to see Of Montreal at one of my favorite Seattle venues, The Showbox at the Market. (Thankfully it wasn’t at one of my least favorite venues, The Showbox SoDo, which totally blows.)

Of Montreal puts on an amazing show. I have a couple of their CDs but I honestly don’t listen to them very often. I much prefer seeing them live. However, now that I’m old, Wednesday nights are really hard for me to stay out and have fun, even if I’m with two of my favorite besties, Goretti and Royal. Even though Of Montreal was great and the energy was really high, Taylor and I bailed early and probably missed some of the funnest numbers. Fortunately for us, Painted Palms was one of the openers and they were so lovely that we didn’t feel like we missed out too much. Listen to them here. (kinda Explosions-in-the-Sky-esque.)

Of Montreal is crazy, which is why I love them. They even gave me some ideas for craft night. (Hello, winged jumpsuits anyone?) Check them out if you haven’t, but keep in mind they’re much more fun in person!

Robyn

Robyn is my idol. I could watch her for hours and still want to dance my butt off. Some friends and I saw her last night at Neumos and holy cow it was a riot. SERIOUSLY SO FUN!

I am tempted to fly to San Francisco tomorrow night so I can see her there. If you are able to go see her, go! You might die. I almost did.

BTW, one of my biggest pet peeves (right next to people who clap double-time) is when people pay money to go to a show like Robyn’s and then they move to the front and then they just stand there and do nothing the whole time. It’s like, dude, go home. Anyway.

The Flaming Lips

The Flaming Lips ruled the stage last night in what was one of the funnest concert going experiences that I’ve ever had. Easily the happiest place on earth last night.

Thanks Royal, Danielle, Goretti, Matt & Regenius for the amazing night! Now let’s go to Vegas!

Passion Pit

I attended Passion Pit’s overdue concert at the Moore Theatre last night in Seattle. While I danced, sang, and gladly made fun of annoying people that insist on clapping in double-time to every song, I left feeling put off by the Moore Theatre and their super-duper stupid staff. Why can’t they tear that place down and put up a nice Hardee’s or something?

Passion Pit themselves entertained like mad. I particularly loved “Let Your Love Grow Tall” and “Eyes as Candles.” I would love to catch them again when the venue allows the audience to actually move around to the music. It would be nice.
